CUNNINGHAM, Ruth - Passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, at the Brantford General Hospital on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Dearly beloved wife of Douglas Cunningham for 62 years. Dear sister-in-law of Leah Campbell. Cherished Aunt of Maureen Clarke, Marilyn and Richard Judge, Nancy and David Mills and Colin Campbell. Loving Great-Aunt of Richie and Lakme, Matt and Angie, Tim and Shannon Judge, Kate Mills and Ross Galbraith, Matthew and Shannon Mills, Jonathan and Mark Campbell. Fun-loving Gee Gee of Xavier, Rekha and James. Predeceased by her devoted parents Mary and Herman Hexemer, loving sister Arlene and her husband Howard Clarke, mother-in-law Ada Cunningham, brother-in-law Roy Campbell and niece Connie Sirot. Ruth was born and raised in Chippawa, Ontario, moving to Bealton where she began her teaching career. She taught over 700 students in Bealton, Oakland and Mt.Pleasant schools and served as Principal at a time when few women held such positions. A devoted follower of Christ, Ruth was always generous to others, quick with a joke and interested in the lives of her friends and family. She will be truly missed. A special thanks to the CCU nurses Lindsay, Kim and Kay who cared for Ruth and her family during her brief hospital stay. A private family funeral will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre in Brantford. A tree will be planted in memory of Ruth in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
