Obituary of Dorothy Townsend

TOWNSEND, Dorothy Ruby (nee Loker) - At Extendicare, Fort MacLeod, Alberta on Saturday, June 28, 2008, in her 92nd year. Loving wife of the late Clarence Townsend (1987). Beloved mother of the late Jean Steele (1979), Stuart Townsend (Cheri), Rosemary Jones (Tom) and Gail Barnes. Dorothy is the grandmother of twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Howard Loker and by sisters Ila Middleton and Jean McArthur. Predeceased by her brothers Dave Jr. and Lorne Loker and by her sister Elinor Edmison. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment to follow, St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Brant. A tree will be planted in memory of Dorothy in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
