Anne-Marie, I am so glad, if I can use that word, that you told me about your dad. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, but it is very good that you saw him and spent some time with him before your holiday. I know what losing parents, no matter what age they are, feels like to me, so I send my sympathy and my hopes that you will remember all the good times you shared with him, and how much he loved you and your family. I also hope that, as time passes, your feelings of loss and of how much you miss him will slowly change to a small but manageable hurt in your heart, side by side with happy memories. That is the stage that I am at now – much better than the very early stage of grief and loss. Both Malcolm and I will be thinking of you and your family as this week goes by, and send our sincere condolences to you and all your family. I know that Duncan sends Donald and Connor his sympathies as well – he also has lost a grandfather, and knows how sad that is. Please give our love to Don, and hugs to Callie, Donald and Connor, Victoria
Dear Anne-Marie and family, We were very saddened to read your father's obituary on the Net, and would like to pass on our condolences to you and Pam and your extended family. We will always remember very fondly how welcome he and Pam made us feel when we visited in 1997. Best Wishes David
