Stephens, Douglas Keith - Passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side, on Sunday, November 10th, 2013 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Vera (nee Riley). Loving father of Brenda Lysak, David (Helga) Stephens, and Lorie (Art) Showler. Devoted grandfather of Amy (Joe), Stephen (Melanie), Paul, Kimberly, and Christina, and his great-grandchildren Max, Zoe, Mia, Luca and Lola. He is predeceased by his sisters Doris Wasko, Shirley Sisler, and Lois Luck, and his brother Donald. He will also be fondly remembered by his friend John Little, and many other family members and friends. Doug was a retired 37 year employee of Union Gas. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave on Tuesday, November 12th from 7 - 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Interment Service on Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Dunnville (see www.beckettglaves.com for details). Donations to the Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Doug in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
